Idols

All around the countryside here you will find lots of small idols like this relating to the Buddhist period. Most of them will be in and around shrines, at the foot of a mountain, in a thicket. More often than not there will some offering in the form of change at the base of the deity :)
I suppose the setting is so serene and blessed you just automatically make a wish! 

Abstract for the day

Something about this scene made me want to click it the minute I saw it.
It's just a tyre tied to an electricity pole. It makes a nice composition though.
Something like an abstract perhaps, because before you pan it, it makes you think, draw some associations and then probably eventually you curse it anyway :)

All the guys went crazy when they saw the bikes lined up so casually. A Honda, A Suzuki and a Ducati is what they tell me !
While they are quietly lined up in this picture, just the thought of the power they exude when they are revved up sends a frission of excitement through me.

This one ranks as my favourite shot amongst the ones posted to date. We were hanging around the lake in the evening and while the whole day was bright and really hot the clouds started misting the lake towards evening.
I love the way this picture has come out because it just captures the whole mood totally. Vey misty,peaceful..a lovely blue haze all around. The yellow glow of the lamp also fits in somehow, it doesn't mar the mood, on the contrary it just enhances the whole scene and provides a focal point.

I usually go for a walk in the evenings and if I am lucky and I have my camera I get some good shots. Most times I am either unlucky or don't have my camera with me!
The day I took this we were out for an ice cream at Yummy and for some reason I grabbed my camera at the last minute. We went to the store and when I looked around the clouds and ominously started to roll in! 

The last rose

This is the last rose I will be posting here! I almost walked into someone's front yard to take the picture. It was fairly late in the evening and the flowers were starting to droop when I came across this sweet smelling rose. The smell was so sweet, just like the "gulkanda" I used to eat back home. It was the smell in facxt and not color that drew me to these flowers.

There are so many flowers here in this season. Just as some of them lose their bloom others take their place. You just take a walk around the area and like I said before its littered with flowers. I feel really bad I don't know the names of any of them!
But its a good opportunity to start learning :) 

Pretty Daisies

The roads are lined, rather littered with flowers here. A quick surf on google tells me these are daisies, and its a garden weed :)
