A break in posts

I have a regular day job now, so its going to be difficult for me to post pics everyday!
I will try and do some work over the weekend and post the good ones during the week.
Thanks for stopping by all these days, I will keep posting but probably fewer times a week.
Do stop by next week!

Striking a pose!

August 2006
Shibuya, Tokyo

I generally do not shoot people. I am not sure what is the correct etiquette there.
I got this one while I was having a sandwich at Starbucks :).
I was safe behind a glass window so the whole thing was quite unintrusive or so I would like to believe!
The reason why I took the pic was because the guy was so macho with his vest and torn jeans and yet the pose is so quintessentially feminine!

YAP (Yet another picture!)

August 2006
Hikarigaoka Koen, Tokyo

I am running out of titles for my photographs!
I also need to change the layout to suit a photo-blog. One of these days...

A city of contrasts

July 2006
Aoyama Cemetery, Tokyo

What makes a city interesting are the contrasts in architecture, people, spaces, food etc. Tokyo is full of them!
This cemetery opens out to a walking distance from Roppongi, one of Tokyo's premier business and entertainment areas. Its almost like being transported between two different worlds. In the photograph, beyond the trees where there's the halo of light, that's the road to the living!

City Lights : Ginza

Ginza, Tokyo

Which one looks better?
I am making a trip to Nihonbashi today, hopefully I can get some decent shots there. Posted by Picasa

City Lights : Ginza

August 2006
Ginza, Tokyo

I really like this picture because I have been struggling to get a good night shot without a tripod for ages. The contrast was good on this one so I thought I would try it in Black and White too.
This is the on the main street ( Chuo-Dori I believe) in Ginza. Ginza is to Tokyo what 5th Avenue is to New York and Oxford Street is to London.
Suffice to say if I can't shop I might as well take pictures! :)

Kampai!

August 2006
Ajabu-juban, Tokyo

We were at this French bar/cafe in the afternoon. They had these wine glasses lined up so nicely begging to be turned into object d'art!
I had to work on the image though it didn't photograph as well. I focussed out the unecessary details and increased the shadows.
I like what I see.

Cityscapes: Time Tellers of Shinjuku

August 2006
Shinjuku, Tokyo

Ok this is an ordinary shot!
Theres a nice wide avenue towards the Southern tower in Shinjuku. This Time Tower is right near Takashimaya, ostensibly called Takashimaya Times Square :)
The Starbucks is at a lovely location and usually packed to capacity. One of these days it will be nice to grab a seat and while away the afternoon.

CityScapes : Shinjuku

August 2006
Shinjuku South Exit, Tokyo

This is the Shinjuku ummm..skyline or such!
One of the busiest and biggest stations in Tokyo. If you want to intentionally confuse someone ask them to meet you at the Shinjuku station in Tokyo! :) Posted by Picasa

Stormy Summer Skies (B&W)

August 2006
Hikarigaoka, Tokyo

We had a huge thunderstorm last night. Left us with less heat, a lovely breeze and fabulous sunset today. Yup this is a sunset, just wanted to see how it looks in Black & White.
Will post the color version later.
